Why Pearls for Our Logo?
Are you familiar with the life of a pearl and the process it goes through to become what it’s destined to be? A natural pearl forms when an irritant enters a particular species, oyster, mussel, or clam. The mollusk secretes a fluid to coat the irritant as a defense mechanism. Layer upon layer of this coating is deposited on the irritant until a lustrous pearl is formed. It comes out dirty and slimy; you must clean it to find out what color it is and polish it to assess its value.
The logo has changed a little over the years, but it continues to be a STRAND of pearls and never a single pearl. Every pearl represents a defining moment in the lives of our girls, our young ladies. Their lives are not defined by one single event, mistake, or struggle. It’s a collection of those “defining moments” that continue to tell their story; it all comes full circle.
